Between January-April 2019, out of 60 TB cases identified through contact investigation and community outreaches, 30 cases came from Kisenyi slum. Kakajjo, Kasaato and Muzaana zones contributed 40% of the notified TB cases. This prompted an approach that intensively reached TB hotspots through a special initiative codenamed \u2018Community Rise Against TB\u2019. AIC established a partnership with Integrated Community Health Initiative Organization (ICHIO) &#8211; an initiative founded by students of Makerere University School of Public Health in 2014. 39 students (volunteers) were engaged and trained in the basics of TB control at community level.
